The Yamaha CP5 digital piano takes many of the core sounds and technologies of the CP1 and offers them to you in an instrument that's both flexible and affordable. From the flagship CP1, the CP5 gains its powerful SCM Spectral Component Modeling, which physically models its 17 primary acoustic and vintage electric piano voices down to their very components. You have to hear the SCM technology in action to believe it. When we had a chance to experience these amazing sounds for the first time at Sweetwater, we were simply blown away by the detail and the realistic vintage characteristics. Every nuance of each re-created keyboard brought the performance to life - like no other stage piano we'd heard!

One of the wonderful things about the CP5 is that, in addition to the SCM-based sound it gets from the CP1, it also includes an AWM2 Advanced Wave Memory sound engine borrowed from Yamaha's MOTIF XS workstation. This AWM2 sound engine allows the CP5 to provide you with an extended selection of excellent voices. The list seems endless, with over 300 additional instruments, including clavs, organs, strings, and more. You'll also be hard pressed to find a better-feeling keybed than the CP5's NW-STAGE wooden-action keyboard, which puts the feel of 88 real ivory keys under your fingertips.

In addition to great sounds, the CP5 offers you the large selection of effects and functionality you'd expect from a Yamaha stage piano. You get both MIDI and audio recording capability, and with 14 rhythm kits and 100 rhythm patterns onboard, you're never without a source of backing material.
